Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

It is made of Dark Stained Burr Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it comes with a flying 'B' paperweight, a set of keys and a brochure featuring never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

Design

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a specific specification that is called the Centenary Specification for cars built in 2019. This includes contrast stitching and cross-stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests seats, the interior and other areas of the car. This adds to the celebration. A bespoke Bentley key case is also included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key has two buttons one of which opens the trunk, and the second that is used to start the vehicle. The key also comes with a switch that allows you to turn on the parking brake. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors while parking in a tight spot. Utilizing this feature will aid in getting in and out of the car more easily.



Each key takes about two days to create. It is cut by hand to shape, sewn sealed, and polished to produce a high-quality finish. It is robust compact and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design resembles the Volkswagen Phaeton's big car key, yet it feels heavier and more luxurious.

It also comes with Secure-A-Key that helps to prevent theft of keys without keypads. This device is put into the remote control fob and is disabled in the event that the key isn't used for more than a few minutes. It blocks thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices which will allow the key to be opened and start the vehicle.

Bentley's Mulliner division lets customers design their own vehicle. The "mood station" lets customers pick images that inspire them. The resulting configuration is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys which are handed out to the guests in a custom-made key case. The keys can also be equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps that illuminate the door's opening pathway with the owner's name and/or emblem when they approach the vehicle.

Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to construct and construct a Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a reluctance to embrace modern tech. Instead of using a machine to place the perfectly matched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Instead of using the car's built-in sensors to guide it into perpendicular and parallel parking spots the drivers must do it manually.

Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities in a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, that pays homage to the William Osler, the founder of Bentley. The Mulsanne W.O.
